When Terry was approached by the then Chairman, John Nott, to join as a trustee of the Guthrie-Smith Trust, it was a natural step to take. His background knowledge of the Trust was strong having worked closely in an accountant’s role with previous secretary of the Trust, Jean Craig.
Terry is excited to be involved with the Arboretum and Outdoor Education Centre, projects that have the potential to create a superb asset for Hawke’s Bay and the people of New Zealand.
Terry brings common sense, business experience, knowledge of finance and governance as a trustee to the Trust.
“Of particular interest is the historical significance of William Herbert Guthrie-Smith, a remarkable man, a pioneer farmer, wild life photographer and author. For William to show leadership as an environmentalist before environmentalism became a cause, is inspiring.”
